Tiesha is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the field of criminal justice, specializing in addressing childhood and adult emotional and behavioral disruptions leading to system involvement. With dual, independent licensure in mental health and substance abuse, Tiesha has honed her expertise in working with individuals facing these challenges within the justice system and child welfare.
Her strong educational foundation, including a bachelor’s (ECSU) and master’s degree (ECU) in criminal justice, has allowed her to bring a holistic approach to fostering positive change within those justice and other system involved. Her interdisciplinary background, combined with practical insights, equips her to effectively assess, treat, advocate, therapeutically intervene, and rehabilitate adults and youth.
Tiesha’s commitment to promoting rehabilitation, family restoration, public safety and reducing recidivism has led to numerous success stories, where she has played a pivotal role in guiding individuals toward more productive and meaningful lives. Her empathetic approach, rooted in a comprehensive understanding of psychological theories, criminogenic risk and need factors, social work principles, and positive regard for her clients consistently yields positive outcomes.
In addition to her clinical expertise, she also brings experience in facility clinical leadership. Her leadership roles have allowed her to influence and shape the delivery of comprehensive care within correctional facilities, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need for successful rehabilitation.
Furthermore, she has served in impactful roles within state and county government. Her involvement in government initiatives has afforded her a unique perspective on policy development, process evaluation, task forces, program implementation, and collaborative efforts to improve treatment outcomes and program implementation.
As a respected professional, she is a recurrent speaker at conferences and workshops, sharing her insights on addressing access to adequate care, advocacy, social determinants of health, mental health and substance abuse trends, skill building, and effective clinical leadership. Her passion for fostering understanding and change underscores her dedication to making a lasting impact on the lives of those she serves.
